Carpentry

Carpentry trainee planing wood in the workshop

At New Renato Community Society (NRCS), our carpentry department is more than a workshop — it is a centre for skills development, construction support, education, beekeeping and community empowerment. Our carpenters produce doors, window frames, roof structures, furniture, fittings and other wooden products used across NRCS programmes and in the wider community.

Supporting construction

The carpentry department works closely with our building and construction department, providing the woodwork and joinery needed for ongoing construction projects. This makes use of local skills and resources and reduces dependence on externally sourced products.

Supporting education

Our workshop produces desks, tables, benches and chairs for nursery schools and other educational facilities, creating better learning environments for children.

Supporting beekeeping

We produce beehives and other wooden beekeeping equipment for our beekeepers and community members involved in honey production.

Supporting churches and community gatherings

We also produce tables, benches and chairs for churches and community institutions used for worship, meetings, training and social gatherings.

Skills, employment and self-reliance

The carpentry programme gives young people and community members practical opportunities for skills development, employment, entrepreneurship and income generation. We are not only working with wood — we are building skills, supporting livelihoods and building the future of our community.
